Helping Hands Care and Consultancy Ltd was founded by Managing Director, Steve Brown and is an independent company that provides a wide range of services to children’s residential providers, supported accommodation and care homes across the UK.
The Helping Hands Care and Consultancy team is made up of former Ofsted and CQC Inspectors, Operations Directors and Responsible Individuals with over 250 collective years experience of working in children and adult social care sectors.
Some of the services we offer include providing part time/interim Responsible Individuals and Nominated Individuals, support with opening and registering new children’s homes, 16+ supported accommodation and care homes, pre-registration Ofsted and CQC inspections, creation of policies and procedures, Independent Regulation 44 visits, compliance action plans and much more.
We also now offer face to face, online 'live', and e-learning training courses. So whether you are planning refresher training, inductions, continuing professional development or increasing awareness we have got accredited courses developed and delivered by experts.

Steve has dedicated his career to working with some of the most vulnerable and challenging children and young people in the UK. Starting his career in a young offenders prison and moving on to work in children’s homes into roles including Registered Manager, Responsible Individual and Director. Steve is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for young people and adults and supporting providers to achieve this.
Steve has a proven track record of registering and managing ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ residential children’s homes and maintaining the highest levels of care for children and young people. A strong leader and strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and cultivate productive working relationships with employees and stakeholders. Steve has significant experience in developing and implementing organisational strategies and operational plans to deliver key objectives.
