STEVE BROWN
Founder and Lead Consultant
Steve has dedicated his career to working with some of the most vulnerable and challenging children and young people in the UK. Starting his career in a young offenders prison and moving on to work in children’s homes into roles including Registered Manager, Responsible Individual and Director. Steve is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for young people and adults and supporting providers to achieve this.
Steve has his own Ofsted registered children's home and has a proven track record of registering and managing ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ residential children’s homes and maintaining the highest levels of care for children and young people. A strong leader and strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and cultivate productive working relationships with employees and stakeholders. Steve has significant experience in developing and implementing organisational strategies and operational plans to deliver key objectives.
Steve is also on the Board of Trustees for YMCA Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire allowing him to further support and provide the best opportunities and experiences for children and young people.
tom grimmett-mitchell
Consultant
Tom is an enthusiastic and dedicated Responsible Individual Consultant and Regulation 44 Visitor with over 12 years’ experience working in residential care and secure settings.
Tom has held a variety of positions including Registered Children's Home Manager, and Responsible Individual supporting Ofsted registrations and new Home Managers. Throughout his career he has worked with a variety of young people with different needs such as Tier 4 step down/mental health, EBD and learning difficulties.
Tom is passionate about making a difference and being creative, holding a podcast which is supported by children in care, holding events in the community raising awareness of opportunities for children to partake in and raising participation through sport. Tom strives to create positive relationships to deliver the best possible outcomes for the children in his care and to support the adults around him to do the same.

Consultant
Abi is a dedicated Responsible Individual Consultant and a Regulation 44 Visitor with over 15 years' experience working within the Care and Education Sectors. These roles have included secure, residential and alternative education settings.
Abi has progressed within her roles and has over 7 years of managerial experience, maintaining 'Outstanding' outcomes with Ofsted over those 7 years —a testament to her leadership and commitment to delivering exceptional care. She knows exactly what Ofsted expects to see in an ‘Outstanding’ home and supports children's homes in meeting regulatory requirements and creating nurturing and therapeutic homes for children and young people to thrive.
Abi has extensive experience in developing and delivering training packages, empowering providers to deliver the best quality of care for children through their staffing teams.
